Mamata Banerjee government has decided to invest Rs 10 thousand crore in the state. Chief Advisor to the Chief Minister Alapan Banerjee announced after an industry meeting at Nabanna on Thursday.
He said, "Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee held a meeting at Kolkata Leather Complex on Thursday. In this meeting, it was decided to make big investments in the leather industry of the state. As a result of this big investment, 2.5 lakh people will get employment in the state in the coming days."
Talking about the decision of the Chief Minister, Alapan Banerjee said, "The Chief Minister called a review meeting on Kolkata Leather Complex today. It was decided in the meeting that 187 more tanneries and 139 more footwear units would come up".
Along with this, Alapan also announced that a leather mall will be built near Alipore Museum. He also said that a drinking water project will be started with Rs 475 crore.
